I am an Elmwood-EK Community guy. I live here, I am raising my family here and I want my children to want to raise their children here. We moved here because we could afford to live here and we were close to work. We stayed because we love the community, quiet streets, good neighbours, and diversity among its hard working and modest citizens.
Since we arrived here we have been making investments in our community by working with teens, families, local organizations and churches. I was the second Chair of the Elmwood Community Resource Centre, in the founding group of the Chalmers Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation, Director of the Fire Escape Drop-In (Youth for Christ), Pastor of the Vineyard in Elmwood (Church) and have served as a coach and mentor through a variety of sports and programs.
We have suffered through 4 years of low community investment and an absent city councillor. Let’s work together to change the perception of our community by fixing our crumbling infrastructure, cleaning up our streets and supporting local business.
Now is the time to build on the momentum we have at the community level. It is time to invest here to keep our community a great place to work live and raise a family.
